Hi There, I came across your website while I was looking for baking classes in the JHB area. I have had no training and I have discovered (through making cakes for my 2 daughters) that I really enjoy cake decorating. I just finished this cake for my daughters first birthday. Please share your comments and thoughts on the cake. I used fondant to mould and create the Ladybug topper and all the flowers and little ladybugs.

How can I store or freeze my cakes?

The answers to the question we all ask! Whether you're simply saving your cake to serve later in the day or you're saving the leftovers for tomorrow, storing it right will keep it fresh, tasty, and looking good.

Store one-layer cakes in their baking pans, tightly covered. Store multilayer cakes in a cake-saver or under a large inverted bowl. If the cake has a fluffy or cooked frosting, insert a teaspoon handle under the edge of the cover to prevent an airtight seal and moisture buildup. Cakes with whipped cream frostings should be stored in the refrigerator.
